| The Moore Gallery was founded in 1977 and was located for 19 years in Hess Village, Hamilton. Functioning as a Fine Art Showroom, Moore Gallery Ltd. worked closely with public galleries and museums, consultants, corporations, and private collectors in assisting and advising on the acquisition of works by major Canadian artists.
The gallery's mandate is to encourage the promotion and distribution of master works - paintings, works on paper and sculpture - by contemporary Canadian artists. This mandate has been successfully met for over 20 years. The Moore Gallery's art selection is recognized as one of the finest in Canada. It has focused on Canadian Art History, specializing in the art created from the Les Automatistes of Quebec to the Painters Eleven of Ontario. In addition, the gallery carries an array of works by the Regina Five, the Isaacs Gang and the Klonaridis Group of artists. The Moore Gallery is here to assist both the seasoned and the new collector. We encourage a dialogue with visitors to the gallery: with our knowledge of Canadian art history we wish to educate the public in the importance of these artists and the value of collecting their works.
